Stephen Mayaki graduated from the Loughborough University of Technology, England with a second-class upper division in Mechanical Engineering in 1975 and obtained the RICS diploma in estate management in 1978. He joined Knight Frank and Rutley, an international firm of Realtors in 1979 and rose to become an associate partner in charge of property development.
Between 1983 and 1986, he worked as Group Property Manager for A.G. Leventis and Company and later as Managing Director of its subsidiary company J&P Nigeria limited, a construction company based in Ibadan. He was in private practice until 1997 when he joined UAC of Nigeria as Divisional Managing Director in charge of Property Division and later became the pioneer MD/CEO of UACN property development company plc when the Division became a full subsidiary and later the first real estate development company quoted on the Nigerian Stock Exchange.
Mr. Mayaki is a partner at Nelson Thorpe Alonge. He is also a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (MNSE), and a Registered Engineer (COREN). He is also a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS), an Associate member of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (ANIVS), Registered Surveyor & Valuer (RSV) and he is a member of the Institute of Directors.
